The State of SaaS Resilience in 2024
Businesses increasingly rely on Software as a Service (SaaS) applications across various sectors. However, many lack visibility into the number of actively used applications, their backup status, and the potential consequences of service outages. Additionally, companies are overly dependent on SaaS providers for data backups, which heightens their risk in case of provider failures or breaches.
SaaS usage is growing. But is it resilient?
- Identify all SaaS applications being used across the enterprise as a matter of
priority to gain a realistic view of risk exposure.
- Ensure all applications are backed up in locations that are separate from the SaaS
providers and that all data can be recovered within an acceptable amount of time.
- Protect SSO and IAM solutions in particular, as they represent the front door to the
majority of SaaS usage.
- Conduct a business impact analysis to determine Recovery Point Objectives (how
much data you can afford to lose) and Recovery Time Objectives (how long you can
tolerate SaaS downtime).
